Privacy Policy
Last updated October 25, 2026
AI Caretaker is built and run by Aryan Dhingra (“I” or “me”). It exists to protect people who are especially vulnerable, so I take their privacy seriously. This policy covers two things: this website (ai-caretaker.live) and the AI Caretaker device and dashboard used in the private beta.
The short version: I collect only what's needed to run the beta and reply to you. I never sell your data or use it for advertising, and you can ask me to delete it at any time.
1. Information from website visitors
Beta sign-up form. Your email, name, your relationship to AI Caretaker (for example caregiver or clinician), and anything you write about why you're interested.
Feedback form. Your email, name, role, your feedback, and, if you choose to answer, what you'd be willing to pay and whether you'd like to hear about the release.
Technical data. The hosting provider processes basic request data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the site and keep it secure. If you pick light or dark mode, the choice is saved in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device. The site uses no advertising, tracking cookies, or third-party analytics.
2. Information from beta participants
If your household joins the beta, the device and dashboard process:
- Speech. The device listens for speech in the room where it's placed and converts it to text. Audio is used for transcription. I don't keep audio recordings as part of normal operation.
- Conversation records. Transcripts of what was said, the device's replies, and timestamps.
- Detections. Information the system infers from conversation, such as possible emergencies and their severity, meals, walks, and mentions of medication. Some of this may be health-related.
- Caregiver contact details. The name, email address, and phone number used to send alerts and give dashboard access.
The caregiver who enrolls in the beta is responsible for having the authority to do so, for getting consent from the person using the device where they're able to give it, and for letting others in the home know the device is there.
3. How I use information
- To run the device: generate replies, detect emergencies, and log activities.
- To send emergency alerts and show the caregiver dashboard.
- To manage the beta, reply to messages, and send beta updates you asked for.
- To improve AI Caretaker and evaluate how well it works. When I publish or present research, I only use results that are aggregated or de-identified, unless you've given separate, explicit permission.
4. Service providers
I don't sell, rent, or trade personal information. These providers process data on my behalf only to run AI Caretaker:
- Google speech recognition, to turn speech into text.
- OpenAI, whose language model writes replies and classifies each statement.
- Supabase, which hosts the database behind the dashboard.
- Mobile carriers, which deliver SMS alerts to caregivers.
- Formspree, which delivers website form submissions to my inbox.
- Vercel, which hosts this website.
I may also disclose information if the law requires it, or if it's needed to protect someone's health or safety.
5. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections, and access to the database and dashboard is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, though, and as a beta, AI Caretaker shouldn't be the only place important health information is kept. If I learn of a breach that affects your information, I'll tell you promptly.
6. How long I keep it
I keep beta data while your household is participating. When you leave the beta, or whenever you ask, I delete your household's conversation records and detections within 30 days, except for de-identified results already included in research. Form submissions are kept only as long as they're useful for the beta or our conversation.
7. Your choices and rights
- Unplug the device at any time to stop all listening.
- Ask for a copy of your household's data.
- Ask me to correct or delete your data.
- Leave the beta or unsubscribe from updates whenever you want.
To do any of these, email aryan.dhingra2008@gmail.com. I'll respond within 30 days.
8. Health information
AI Caretaker isn't a healthcare provider or a health plan, so HIPAA doesn't apply to it. I still treat everything the device collects as sensitive health information and handle it with the care described in this policy.
9. Children
AI Caretaker is designed for older adults and their caregivers. It isn't directed to children under 13, and only adults may sign up for the beta. If you believe a child has given me personal information, email me and I'll delete it.
10. Changes
If I change this policy, I'll update the date above. For meaningful changes that affect beta participants, I'll email you before they take effect. See also the Terms of Use.
